‘Tough Guy’ Kim Oh-kyu, “I don’t have pride in dirty play, but if I need a team”

Jeju United central defender Kim Oh-gyu, who is a tough defender and even gives warnings, tries to keep his style.

Kim Oh-kyu is included in the Jeju captain’s team this season and serves as the team’s focal point by helping captain Choi Young-jun. Also, as a defender, stable defense will play a big role in Jeju’s goal of second place in the K-League 1.

He said at the 2023슬롯사이트 K-League Winter Field Training Media Camp held at the Parev Hotel in Seogwipo-si, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province on the morning of the 7th, “Choi Young-joon took over as captain this season. While talking with Youngjun, I tried to overcome the bad parts like last year,” he said. “Director Nam Ki-il is trying to change. It’s not just the director’s problem. Our players also have to do well,” he said, sticking to his role as the captain.

Kim Oh-gyu is overwhelming his opponents with rough foul play and nerve warfare. He was not afraid enough to receive 12 warnings, the most in the K League 1. Kim O-kyu’s rough play gave Jeju a sense of reassurance, but on the contrary, he became the target of criticism from his opponents and fans.

He said, “I don’t take pride in doing it dirty. Wouldn’t it be intrusive if the other person evaluated me? It’s not something to worry about for the team,” he said, not caring.

The story is different if you think about the two sons as well as the young fans. Kim Oh-kyu blurted out, “I have two sons and young fans are coming,” but “I would appreciate it if you thought I was sacrificing for Jeju, but my style can’t change dramatically. I want to keep the line,” he said, showing his will to try to play fair.

Kim O-gyu tries to contribute to Jeju’s leap with his own defense. He said, “The part that I feel while training now is very good. The coaching staff and players are moving towards one goal with one mind. The feeling was fine,” he said, hoping for an improved Jeju this season.
