“카지노사이트I never complained in Florida.”
MLB.com highlighted the “big brother leadership” of Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Hyun-jin Ryu, who is set to return to action on April 2 against the Baltimore Orioles. Interpreter Park Joon-sung, who has been following Ryu’s rehabilitation, spoke with MLB.com, and aside from his leadership, he revealed how serious Ryu is about making a comeback.
First, Ryu told MLB.com, “The end goal is to get back on the mound. That’s pretty much all I thought about during my rehab.” After undergoing the second Tommy John surgery of his career in June 2022, he spent a year and two months with nothing but baseball on his mind.
Tommy John surgery is now common among pitchers. The risk of failure is getting lower and lower. But rehab is hard. And tedious. The general rule is that if you don’t overcome a certain amount of pain, you won’t be able to return. Ryu has overcome this not once, but twice, and is on the verge of returning to a major league mound.
According to MLB.com, “Ryu spent most of his time at Toronto’s player development complex in Dunedin, Florida. He watched all of Toronto’s games on TV. The Florida heat hasn’t slowed his rehab. He didn’t experience the frustration and loneliness of being away from his teammates.”
Interpreter Park Jun-sung said, “I’m not going to lie, my respect for him has grown even more. The last seven months I spent in Florida, I wanted to leave Florida, I was at the point of losing my mind. I just wanted to be with the team again,” he said.
Even the interpreters who watched the rehabilitation from the sidelines were bored with the monotony of life, much to Ryu’s chagrin. “He never complained about being in Florida,” said Park Jun-sung, “because he had a specific goal in mind. While we were there, he was doing what he had to do. The dedication he showed was phenomenal, and you have to see it for yourself.”
Ryu is now on the move with Toronto. The Jays embark on a fateful 17-game homestand, beginning on Sept. 29 against the Los Angeles Angels. Hyun-jin Ryu will help the team in the hunt for the third wild-card spot, starting with his return game on April 2. It’s the final flame of a four-year, $80 million contract.
MLB.com said, “No one is more excited for his return than Ryu. The Toronto clubhouse is definitely more energized in his presence. His noticeably slimmer frame may be the first thing you notice, but the joy of his return to the majors is the second.”
