ROAD TO UFC Finals, February 5th in Las Vegas

UFC has announced that the 1st ROAD TO UFC Tournament Finals will be held at UFC Fight Night: Lewis VS Spivak’s Undercard at UFC Apex, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on Sunday, February 5th. . The four winners will sign contracts with the UFC and play in the UFC, the stage of their dreams.  

ROAD TO UFC is a “winner advances to the next round” tournament that gives Asia’s top MMA up-and-comers the chance to win UFC contracts. The tournament started with a total of 32 fighters, eight from each of four weight classes: flyweight, bantamweight, featherweight, and lightweight. Athletes from China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, the Philippines and Thailand participated in ROAD TO UFC.  

The ROAD TO UFC quarterfinal was held prior to UFC 275: Teixeira vs Prohaska, the first UFC PPV event in Southeast Asia, held at the Indoor Stadium in Singapore last June. The semi-final was held as the finale of UFC 280: Oliveira vs Makhachev Fight Week in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on Sunday, October 23 last year. 

UFC Senior Vice President and Asia President Kevin Chang said, “ROAD TO UFC has been a phenomenal success, attracting enthusiastic participation from local fans as Asia’s hottest up-and-comers perform exceptionally well. The eight finalists will have the opportunity to represent their country by signing multi-fight contracts with the UFC.”  메이저놀이터

The fighters representing Korea in the ROAD TO UFC finals are flyweight Choi Seung-guk (6-1, Seoul), Park Hyeon-seong (7-0, Gyeonggi-do), and featherweight Lee Jung-young (9-1, Daegu). Choi won a unanimous decision victory over Rama Spandi (Indonesia) in the quarterfinals and a unanimous decision victory over Chiu Luan (China) in the semifinals. Park Hyeon-seong defeated Jeremiah Sirega (Indonesia) by KO in the first round in the quarterfinals and Topnoi Kiaram (Thailand) by submission in the first round in the semifinals. Choi Seung-guk and Park Hyeon-seong face off in the flyweight final. 

Lee Jung-young defeated Xiebin (China) by submission in the first round in the quarterfinals and Lu Kai (China) by KO in the first round in the semifinals. Lee Jung-young will face Li Ji (China) in the featherweight final.
