바카라사이트NC Dinos veteran outfielder Son As-seop has recorded his 2,319th hit, moving into second place on the KBO’s all-time hits list.
Son batted leadoff against the Kiwoom Heroes of the 2023 KBO Baseball League at the Gocheok SkyDome in Guro-gu, Seoul, on 5 May.
Son, who had 2,318 hits prior to the game, grounded out to shortstop in his first at-bat, but with the score tied at 0-0 in the top of the third inning, he took a four-pitch, 152-kilometre fastball from Kiwoom starter Jang Jae-young for a single to centre field. It was Son’s 2,319th hit, which moved him past former Samsung Lions commentator Yang Jun-hyuk (2,318 hits) into second place on the KBO’s all-time hits list. The previous leader in this category was Park Yong-taek (formerly of the LG Twins) with 2,504 hits.
Son began his professional career with the Lotte Giants in 2007 and has been synonymous with consistency. Since breaking into the main line-up in 2010, he has recorded triple-digit hits in 13 consecutive seasons, including last season.
He’s been in an NC uniform since the 2022 season, and he’s showing off a highly sensitive bat again this year, so barring any changes, he’s on track to break the 100-hit mark.
Meanwhile, the game is in its fourth inning, with NC trailing Kiwoom 0-2.
