The Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball (MLB) get nervous when they face the New York Yankees. In 13 games this season, Tampa Bay batters have been hit by balls thrown by Yankees pitchers 12 times. Conversely, Tampa Bay pitchers have only hit Yankees batters twice.안전놀이터
The Tampa Bay-Yankees game on Aug. 28 featured two bench clears in one inning. That’s because of a hard-hit ball.
The game was played at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, USA. In the bottom of the eighth inning, Tampa Bay leadoff hitter Randy Arozarena was hit in the side by a pitch thrown by Yankees pitcher Albert Abreu. Arozarenas was also hit by a pitch from Abreu in a game in May. The two exchanged words and players from both teams rushed the field. The first bench cleared. Arozarena then stole second and third base. After stealing third, a second bench clearance occurred. Arozarena and Abreu argued again, and players from both teams ran onto the field. Fortunately, the two bench clearing incidents were resolved without physical altercations. Tampa Bay won 7-4, despite being hit by balls thrown by Yankees pitchers four times on the day.
“I understand the frustration of the Tampa Bay hitters who were hit by pitches,” Yankees manager Aaron Boone said after the game, “but they were never hit on purpose.”
