German coach Jurgen Klinsmann (58) has been appointed as the new head coach of the Korean national soccer team.
The Korea Football Association announced on the afternoon of the 27th that it had appointed German coach Klinsmann as the new head coach of the national soccer team. The contract period with coach Klinsman is about 3 years and 5 months from March to the 2026 World Cup finals in North and Central America. The salary was not disclosed according to the agreement of both parties.

Manager Klinsmann made a name for himself as a striker representing Germany during his active career. He also participated in three consecutive World Cups from 1990 to 1994 and 1998. In particular, he made a decisive contribution to Germany winning the 1990 World Cup in Italy and the 1996 European Championship. In the 1994 World Cup in USA, he scored 2 goals against our national team.
After retiring, he led the German and American national teams. Coach Klinsmann, who took the helm of the German national team in 2004, led the team to third place in the 2006 World Cup held in his country. He also led the U.S. national team from 2011 to 2016, winning the Gold Cup in 2013 and advancing to the round of 16 at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
