After returning to Incheon United, ‘Pangum’s Finisher’ Mugosa has vowed to never leave Incheon again.
On the 16th, Incheon United and Daejeon Hana Citizen will meet at the Incheon Football Stadium at 8pm in the 23rd round of the Hana One Q K League 2023. Incheon is in ninth place with 27 points, while Daejeon is in seventh place with 30 points.
온라인카지노Incheon announced Mugosa’s surprise return on the 10th of this month with a live broadcast of his arrival at Incheon International Airport. Mugosa is Incheon’s leading attacker. He spent four and a half seasons with the club between 2018 and the summer of 2022, scoring 68 goals and providing 10 assists in 129 K League One games. After leading the K League 1 in scoring last year, Mugosa moved to Japan’s J1 League Bisselgobe in the summer transfer window, only to make a surprise return a year later. After a difficult start to life in Japan, he returned to Incheon by waiving his remaining salary and terminating his contract.
Incheon held a press conference for Mugosa’s return at 5.30pm in the interview room at the Incheon Football Stadium before the 23rd round match against Daejeon. Mugosa entered the interview room, saying “hello” in Korean to the Korean media after a long absence. After a greeting from CEO Lee Jeon-soo, the press conference began in earnest.
Mugosa expressed his joy at returning to the team after a year’s absence and expressed his desire to stay with Incheon until the end of his career. “I only want to play for Incheon now, and it’s not easy to talk about the future, but my personal goal is to play for Incheon until I retire. Of course, it’s too early to talk about retirement. I have a lot of time left to play for the club. Nevertheless, I wanted to say this to the fans and the club: this is my home. I don’t want to go anywhere else but Incheon now.”

- Greetings from CEO Lee Jeon-soo
CEO Lee Jeon-soo: Mugosa is back after a year. Congratulations from the bottom of my heart. There were better offers, and his salary was guaranteed if he stayed, but he came to our club to play the football he loves with Incheon. Together with our fans and citizens, I would like to congratulate and thank him. We wish Mugosa all the best for his future in the K League and for a better future and glory with Incheon. I would also like to thank Mayor Yoo Jung-bok, the owner of the club, for helping Mugosa come to Incheon. The affection between the fans and Mugosa will continue. As a club representative, I am grateful. We have come this far because we trust each other. I will do my best to help Mugosa lead the development of Incheon and the K League and find personal glory. I always say that I am not a representative, but a big errand boy. I will be faithful as an errand boy to support our club, fans and players. I promise to be an Incheon club that communicates with fans and contributes to the development of Korean football.
- How does it feel to be back?
Mugosa: First of all, I’m grateful to be back. There are a few people I would like to thank. Mayor Yoo Jung-bok, the owner of the club, President Lee Jeon-soo, Chief Executive Officer Lim Joong-yong, and other officials of the club have made it possible for me to come back. I’m happy to be back in Incheon, the city I love. I am happy to be able to communicate and share my joy with the fans in a place that feels like home. Incheon United is not just a team, it means a lot to me and my family.
- You had offers from other clubs, why did you choose Incheon?
It was an easy decision. I had a great time in Incheon. It’s a team I have a lot of affection for. As I said before, Incheon is a family. There were other clubs that made interesting offers, but Incheon was the only place in my heart. The process of coming back was not easy. A month or two ago, I wasn’t sure if I was coming back. But I knew I wanted to come back to Incheon. I would like to thank the owner and the club officials for making the transfer happen. Now that I’m back, I want to play only for Incheon. It’s not easy to talk about the future, but my personal goal is to play for Incheon until I retire. Of course, it’s too early to talk about retirement. I have a lot of time left to play for the club. Nevertheless, I wanted to say this to the fans and the club: this is my home. I don’t want to go anywhere else but Incheon now.
- There’s a saying, ‘It’s hard to leave home’.
I can only say ‘I’m so happy to be back’. I missed everyone, including my fans. I was very excited when I left Japan. I was even more excited to come back and sign the contract than I was when I first signed with Incheon.
- What challenges did you face in Japan?
It’s true that there were some footballing difficulties, but I was happy with the city of Kobe, the environment, and the J-League. If we talk about football, I was shocked when I arrived and didn’t play in the first five or six games. I thought that if I scored early on and got off to a good start, I could continue my good form, but it was stressful not being able to play 90 minutes. When I was in Incheon, I scored 18 goals in 20 games for the national team and the club. I was in good form, but it became difficult when I couldn’t play. There were seven foreign players in Kobe, but only one was actually playing. It was difficult for foreign players in general. I want to end on a gentlemanly note, I don’t want to add to the bad stories. I want to say that I am grateful for what the club has done for me and the city of Kobe.
- He expressed his love for Incheon, but I don’t know if there will be any special occasion.
Everything. I fell in love with Incheon, with life in Incheon, with football, with everything. When I first came to Incheon in 2018, I was welcomed so much and I felt so happy. I scored a lot of goals and the fans loved me so much. I could feel it in my body. The positive energy was not only inside the stadium but also outside. Whenever I met the fans, they would say, ‘I hope you score in the next game’. This encouragement led to better performances and I was able to make them happy again. This relationship built trust and created a lot of affection. I can’t forget about my family. I have a wife, a daughter and now a son. They are happy to see their dad play on the pitch and cheer him on. I’m also happy with Songdo, Incheon, and the school my children will attend. - On whether he has watched Incheon play this season and what he thinks of the synergy with assistants like Gerso
I left saying, ‘I will be Incheon’s number one fan even if I leave. I stayed in touch with some players and club officials, and I watched Incheon in the second half of last year and this season. They did really well last year. This year, they’ve built the best squad since I’ve been here. Of course, we are not close to our goal, so we have to do our best to improve our ranking. My personal goal is to help the team get back to the Final A and beyond that to a higher ranking. I was happy to see some good players join Incheon, and I’m even happier to be with them. I know Hernandez and Gerso have done well at Gyeongnam FC and Jeju United. I’m also happy to be able to play with players like Shin Shin-ho and Oh Ban-seok. I’m not saying that Incheon was weak before that. They were good before, but I’d say this is the best squad they’ve had since I joined.
- How are you feeling and what are your personal goals?
I suffered a minor injury against the Czech Republic in the A match in June. I had a bad knee and took three weeks off after the injury. I have to say that it will be difficult to expect the same level of performance that I showed before leaving Incheon last year. The physical coach and the medical team are helping me a lot to get back up to speed. I can’t make any promises like, ‘I’ll be able to play in the upcoming matches against FC Seoul and Jeonbuk Hyundai. I haven’t played for a long time, so it will take time for me to get back to my best. I’ll have to train a lot, work hard, and get help from my teammates. As for personal goals, I have never answered with numbers. I think I can say that I will do my best this time. I want to help the team and finish in the top six. There is also the ACL (Asian Football Confederation Champions League) and the FA Cup. It will be difficult, but we have a good squad and I want to try to bring the FA Cup trophy to the club. The coach knows my condition. We are communicating and preparing for when I will be back to my best. I promise I will be back to my best. I am confident.
- Coach Cho Sung-hwan and the team after his return
Everyone was happy for me. The coach also welcomed me back. I’ve been with him before. I believe in him, and he believes in me. I didn’t have to say much. I told him that I would bring new energy to the team and help take it to the next level. I know my role and that’s what I said. Everyone was very happy to see me back.
Before concluding the press conference, I would like to thank Mayor Yoo Jung-bok, the owner of the club, and the best player in the world, Lee Jae-soo, as well as Lim Joong-you and everyone involved. I will do my best and put in all my efforts to help the team this season, and the last thing I would like to say is that I will enjoy it.
