‘Football administration expert’ Lee Jae-ha, former Seongnam representative, appointed Kim Cheon as the new general manager

 Managing Director Gimcheon appointed Lee Jae-ha, former CEO of Seongnam FC, as the new general manager.

Lee joined the LG Sports team in 1991 and stepped forward as a football administrator. He was inaugurated as the general manager of FC Seoul in 2012 after extensive experience in the club. He led Seoul’s heyday until 2018. At that time, Seoul achieved splendid results, including winning the league twice, winning the Korea Football Association (FA) Cup, and finishing runner-up in the Asian Champions League (ACL). Seoul has been on a winning streak as the self-proclaimed K-League ‘Leading Club’.

In recognition of these achievements, he was appointed as the representative of Seongnam in 2019. With stable club management, the team that was in danger of relegation was retained for two consecutive years. After completing his role, he left ‘at the applause’. He resigned because of a break. At the time, Seongnam Mayor Eun Soo-mi tried to dissuade him, but he did not give up.

After recharging, he joins Kimcheon as the general manager. In Kimcheon, Lee Heung-sil, the first general manager, recently left the team. Gimcheon is determined to take on a new challenge by inviting Lee, a veteran expert with deep soccer experience. Kim Cheon aims to win the K-League 2 (second division) this season. General manager Lee, who is from Gimcheon, is also known for his determination to pour his 30 years of experience into his hometown team.
