Badminton Ahn Se-young, ‘fateful rival’ Japan Yamaguchi couldn’t stop again

Ahn Se-yeong (Samsung Life Insurance), a leading badminton player in Korea, recorded 4 losses in total opponents in a confrontation with ‘old enemy’ Yamaguchi.

On the 15th (hereinafter Korean time), Ahn Se-young, who played in the 2023 Malaysian Open women’s singles final held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, lost to Akane Yamaguchi (Japan) with a set score of 1-2 and became runner-up.

Previously, Ahn Se-young defeated Wang Ziyi, the world’s 8th ranked player, in the quarterfinals, and defeated Chen Yufei (China), the world’s second-ranked superpower, in the semifinals, advancing to the final.

In the 1st set, Ahn Se-young brought the atmosphere first, but from the 2nd set her momentum took a sharp turn. Yamaguchi took the lead and Ahn Se-yeong chased her breathlessly.

Ahn Se-young chased fiercely enough to make it 17-17, but in the end she failed to come from behind.

Her 3rd set was almost a lopsided push due to her depletion of stamina. 10-12, conceding 6 runs in a row, Yamaguchi finally brought victory.  바카라

Ahn Se-young lost 0-2 in all three recent encounters with Yamaguchi. The set win is the first since winning the semifinals at the World Team Championships last May.

In the men’s doubles, Seo Seung-jae (Army Sports Corps) and Kang Min-hyeok (Samsung Life Insurance) lost to world No. 1 Pajar Alpian-Muhammad Ryan Ardianto (Indonesia) with a set score of 0-2 in the semifinals, finishing in third place.
