“My goal this season is 3 goals and 2 assists.”
Ansan Greeners captain Kim Young-nam (32) revealed specific goals. This is because he is ahead of the K-League career with 10 goals and 10 assists (10-10).
Kim Young-nam, who met with this magazine on the 6th at the Kal Hotel in Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do, said, “I have a greedy point. I want to do one or two every year. I don’t know what will happen this year because the manager and coach told me not to go out (forward).”
Kim Young-nam’s original position is central midfielder. Last year, however, he took on the role of a three-back for the first time since his professional debut in 2012. As a result, he played in 26 league games last season, but failed to raise an attacking point.
Recalling last year, he said, “I have a goalkeeper behind me, but since it was the final game, I felt the burden of conceding a goal 메이저놀이터with just one mistake.” I have 3 goals and 2 assists left, but I want to achieve it. There aren’t many situations to go forward, so I’m going to take a free kick.” Currently, Kim Young-nam is recording 7 goals and 8 assists in the K League 2 career.
Starting from the new season, Kim Young-nam, who is one of the senior players in the team, will wear the captain’s armband on the pitch. He said, “Nothing has changed. I think I need to lead the juniors well and play a good middle role between the coach and the coach.”
There are many young players in Ansan. At most, there is a difference of more than 10 years, so communication is difficult. However, Kim Young-nam said, “At first, when many young players came in, it seemed that it was uncomfortable for me to approach them. But in order to do one season, I had to get close, so I approached him. It seems that the generation gap is not as big as I thought. Of course it’s my opinion.” He laughed.
Ansan, ahead of the 2023 season, has drastically changed its squad. Striker Choi Geon-joo (Busan I-Park) and midfielder Lee Sang-min (Seoul E-Land) left the team. Kim Young-nam said, “I think it would have been a better team without those players. However, there is a desperation for the new players. As a team, it seems to be more cohesive than last year.”
Last season, it took Ansan three months to win one game. The start of the season was poor, and it was difficult to break the winless link. ‘Chief’ Kim Young-nam is confident that this season will be different from last year. He said, “No matter how I look at it, I think the start will be better than last year. If we get points quickly at the beginning of the season, I think we can keep it until the end. If the injured players come back and everyone works out together, I wonder if we can win sooner or later.”
Ansan, who finished the 2022 season in 9th place, sets sail with the goal of advancing to the promotion playoffs (PO). Kim Young-nam said, “It seems that all players set their goals that way. Realistically, I wonder if it would be difficult, but since nothing is impossible, the director seems to have set a high goal.”
