The Lotte Giants defeated the LG Twins to avenge the previous day’s loss.
Lotte came from behind to win 7-4 against LG at Sajik Stadium in Busan on April 9. Starter Dan Straily pitched just four innings, but the bats came alive early in the game to pull away, and the bullpen closed out the game to send the home fans home with a victory. With the win, Lotte improved its record to 38-1 and tied for 37th place on the season, moving back out of the negative win-loss column. LG opened the scoring in the first inning with a leadoff double to the left field fence by Hong Chang-ki and a single to left-center by Moon Sung-joo. However, they failed to tie the game as Park Hae-min and Shin Min-jae each struck out. In the top of the sixth inning, Lotte had the bases loaded with a double, a walk and a hit batter, but Park Dong-won could not capitalize on the tying run as he was hit by a pitch.In the bottom of the sixth inning, Lotte loaded the bases against LG Hamdeok-ju with a walk by Son Sung-bin, a double to right field by Hwang Sung-bin and a single by Yoon Dong-hee. LG sent Jung Woo-young to the mound, but Lotte’s Jeon Jun-woo drove in a run with a drive into the dunes to make it 7-4.
Choi Joon-yong, who pitched a triple play in the seventh inning, worked a two-out rally in the eighth before sending set-up man Koo Seung-min to the mound to get the final out. In the ninth, closer Kim Won-joong pitched a scoreless inning to seal the three-run victory.
